24546431321, i didn't know there was a rule or a certain number!

Don't know if there is a "standard", but I've read that 10 times per bite is good for weight loss (taking longer to eat gives the brain time to recognize when you're full). So, I would assume that less than 10 times per bite is the usual......

My parents used to say twenty times.

I was taught, when I was little, to chew my food at least 20 times before I swallow it. Now I'm the slowest eater at the table. I swear, everyone else swallows their food whole!!! LOL

16 times

I have heard 15 times and youre suppose to put your silverware down inbetween bites so you eat slower and less

i've heard 32 times..... no proof though.

I didn't know there was a rule or standard. I think it depends on how hard or soft the food is, so that it is broken down into small enough pieces to comfortably and safely swallow.
