Question:

I have a question about making iced coffee drinks, please read below.?

I make cappuccino every day at home, but when the weather gets warm I can't stand hot things like coffee or soup. I want to make iced coffee. I was thinking if I poured the fresh coffee in with ice, it would melt the ice, but if I wait until the coffee is cold it would lose flavor, right? How is it done?

Answers:
Chilling coffee will not make it lose it's flavor. It' s like tea. Sweeten it when hot so the sugar dissolves, then chill. If you're going to add milk, I think it's better to add it and stir just before you drink.

Here are my favorites...you can omit the chocolate if you wish.

Iced mocha
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
1 cup double espresso or very strong coffee, hot
1/4 cup half and half
4 ice cubes

Stir chocolate syrup into hot coffee until melted. Transfer to a blender, add half and half and ice cubes, and blend at high speed for 2 to 3 minutes. Serve immediately in a tall, cold glass.

Iced Mocha
4 1/2 C. strong brewed coffee
3/4 C. chocolate syrup
2 1/2 C. milk
frozen nondairy whipped topping, thawed

Cool coffee to room temperature. Stir in syrup and milk, mixing well with a spoon or whisk. Chill. Serve over ice with a dollop of whipped topping. Add chocolate sprinkles.

it is a simple trick like this
mix yr coffee powder and sugar in 3-4 spoonfuls of hot milk, then pour chilled milk and stir or run a blender through it with or without ice till it becomes frothy.
u can even add chocolate syrup if u wish but mostly it is not required.
if u mix coffee powder in chilled milk u would never get the right flavour

I believe your Q is about coffee temps not about recipes.
If you chill your freshly made hot coffee over ice you dilute the coffee and make watered down weak coffee.
Instant coffee crystals? Huh? Forgetaboutit!
I suggest putting the hot coffee with the other ingredients into the freezer or 'fridge until it's icy and THEN making your iced coffee drinks. This way you'll have a full flavored brew!
Try it both ways and have a 'tasting'.
.

Iced coffee drinks are generally made starting with espresso. Once the ice melts or milk is added, you end up with drink that still has great coffee flavor but isn't as strong as espresso. The simplest drink you can make is take a glass of ice, put in a couple of shot of espresso and pour chocolate milk on top (or sqeeze chocolate syrup onto the espresso and then pour milk on). It's the world's easiest iced mocha.
