Would you buy homemade yogurt at the Farmer's market?!

Question:

Would you buy homemade yogurt at the Farmer's market?

My husband and I make homemade yogurt and I was thinking we could probably sell plain and fruit-flavoured kinds at the local farmer's market. Do you think people would buy it?

I would be using already pasteruized milk so it doesn't need to be pasteurized again. Plus we boil it for thirty minutes before adding the yogurt.
Thanks for all your input!!

I would definately buy it. You might offer free samples because people might decide that it tastes better than store-bought yogurt and then you'd have some hooked customers.

Personally, I would definitely try it! I love supporting our local merchants and try to buy all I can from our farmers markets! I have bought honey, dips, plants and stuff, aside from just veggies at the farmers markets that I go to! Plus I love yogurt, so I would be intrigued enough to try a local flavor!!
Good luck!!

No way!

yes i would...i do not have the time to make my own and homemade is so much better then store bought.....great idea...just make sure you will have a way to keep it cool

As long as the market is a "Certified Farmers Market."

Yes, definitely!! I love trying new local things. I would start with some small free samples in case people are nervous about trying it. Or at least let people taste before buying if they ask to. But, yes, I would do it if I were you!

Absolutely...
Just be sure your sanitation is superior.
Include your address on the label.
Please check you local health dept.
You do not want to start out with any citations for health standards
The market may have standards also.

Try attending Farmer's Markets in your area.

First, see if anyone else is selling dairy and/or unpasteurized food products. There may be good reasons why or why they are not selling similar products (health codes, permits, etc).

Second, conduct some market research: talk to people or carry a clipboard and ask people questions about their attitudes and preferences for homemade yogurts (some people might shy away but others might be open minded).

Of course, that's very organized and might take away some of the spontaneity and experimentation, but doing this research ahead of time could be helpful if you really want to make money with your business idea, and if you want to know what people would be willing to buy before you make a bunch of it.

I wish someone would sell it at our farmers market.
free samples are a great idea. I would definately buy it.
