New In Restaurant Or Hotel?!

Question:

New In Restaurant Or Hotel?

Once You Start In A Hotel Or A Restaurant As A Cook Do You Recieve A Training?

Answers:
They have to train you. You can't be expected to come into a place and know exactly how to do their menu their way. The training of course will be on the job, during service so you'll be learning as you go.

My suggestion is to take a copy of the menu so you're familiar with most of the main components. Then when you get on the line or do prep you'll have a good idea what goes in what.

I'm a Chef Instructor

i'd imagine so, you need to get accustomed to the 'local' food and techniques.

i'm sure you'd receive some type of training. i dont think they'd just stick you in a job and expect you to know everything haha.... well... at least i hope thats now what they'd expect!

Usually they hire people with experience, but people have to get experience somewhere.

They should train you. Especially if it's a chain Restaurant or Hotel. They will have specific food times it takes to put stuff out and specific ways to cook it.
