How long is canned tomato sauce good after it's opened?!

Question:

How long is canned tomato sauce good after it's opened?

I sometimes will buy canned tomato sauce or spagetti sauce to use in recipes or such. If I don't use all of it I'll stick it in a tupperware container and put it in the fridge. I'm just wondering how long it's good for after that? Most other things you can easily tell... but this still looks good and smells good and it's been atleast 2 or 3 weeks. I'll probably just trash it anyway... I'm too paranoid to use it. But how long will it last in the fridge once opened?

Good idea... I should just put it straight into the freezer. I always forget it's in the fridge.

In the fridge it's best to use it after a week. If you want it to last longer I'd put it in the freezer. If you put it in an air tight container it can last up to a month in the freezer. That is what I do with my extra sauce.

if the sauce is in an air tight container...about 3wks. As long as it isnt going from room temp to refrig, room temp back to fridge in the mean time.

According to this list, 2-3 days opened:

Yeah depends, on which part of the fridge you put in it. Yeah I also keep my leftover sauce in the freezer and it keeps for almost two months.
