Can you bake red potatoes just like regular baked potatoes?!
Can you bake red potatoes just like regular baked potatoes?
and if so can you save time by using the microwave? Thanks!
Answers:
I cut red potatoes to proportion and coat them in a light olive oil, with garlic and rosemary then bake until tender and slightly golden brown on a cookie sheet - then I salt them with course Kosher salt afterwards when they are still hot. Roasted reds I call em' - great side dish. Left overs can be thrown in the frying pan the next day - spiced up and served with eggs, or whatever. Git R done!
ahahahahahahahahah
ps: haha
yes. they just have a higher moisture content and won't be as fluffy as a baking potato. the flavor is just as good.
red potatoes are great for oven-roasted potatoes because they hold together better.
Yes. Use them just like regulare potatoes. And yes, potatoes are microwavable, just make sure you poke holes in them with a fork, so they don't explode. :]
You can bake any potato or root veggie. They will also microwave.
Spuds usually taste better from the oven but the nuker is way faster.
Bake your sweet potatos in a slow oven (low temp, long time) to develop the sweetness.
I use any kind of potatoes that are on special and they come out pretty good. I use regular oven, never microwaved them before but you can try and let me know how it went.
I have, but I put holes in them like regular potatoes and wrap in saran wrap (microwave).... Cut them in chunks, mix with salt, pepper, parm. cheese and dry onion soup mix plus two tbsp olive oil in a bag...Mix and dump on a baking sheet and bake... Yummy....
Definitely, they come out so much softer than regular potatoes.
i do and it works for me.
yes and very delicious especially if you get the small ones and then cut them in half, put them in 1 package of lipton onion soup mix with a bit of oil and bake them. SO GOOD!
Yep.

Yes and no. You can bake red potatoes, but they won't be *just like* regular baked potatoes. A better option for red potatoes (as many have pointed out) is roasting. And yes, it would be a good idea to nuke them before baking; red potatoes take longer to cook, unless they're very young.
A simple & yummy idea....boil or microwave med-small red potatoes until tender, let cool slightly then smash flat onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper and roast at 350F for 10-20 min. Golden crisp on the outside, soft on the inside.
