Because Nestlé are the only ones that can do it justice. I'm glad that no-one else has ever tried

There are many different brands of shredded wheat. I buy the Safeway store brand but all of the major cereal compaines have a variety of it.

Malt-O-Meal makes awesome Maple Brown Sugar shredded wheat and Frosted shredded wheat. It comes in bags instead of a box.

My grocery store here in the US sells about 10 different versions of shredded wheat, from organic to strawberry-flavored. Perhaps you simply have a small store with not much room to stock more than one brand.
