Question:

Do you know your fruits?

while i was in italy over the summer i always saw these little small translucent green fruits. they sort of looked like little clear watermelons...
any clue???
my friend from albania said they are very common all throughout Europe,as i noticed, but she dosent know the name of them.

anyone know???

Answers:
citron, they are best boiled in sugar syrup then used to add perk to sweet breads and italian desserts. then called candied citron

it could be fig.. but, don't think so

How small were they?
All I can think of are gooseberries, but they're between the size of an apricot and a grape.

You haven't mentioned the size ,if about the size of a large grape it could be gooseberries. Figs are not translucent.

Gooseberries -- yummy
