Would you eat string cheese that had expired 16 months ago?!

Question:

Would you eat string cheese that had expired 16 months ago?

The expiration date on these individually packaged string cheeses in the refrigerator is January 2006 and they taste bitter. Are they bad for you? I have a huge box of them from Sam's Club.

Answers:
They taste bitter indicates you tasted this 16 month old cheese eww. No throw them away.

no. Sixteen months is too much.

Aren't they moldy yet? I guess maybe that wouldn't happend if they are vacume sealed.

I probobly wouldn't take a chance on getting sick, but I don't know for sure.

Uh....no. I wouldn't. Did you eat it??????

I also found this:

Check the labels, especially on fresh cheeses, to make sure that the product is well within its expiration date. For larger cheeses that are cut down to smaller amounts, the store label should also include an expiration date near the weight and price amounts. If a cheese is reduced in price for quick sale, it's generally not a bargain, and your experience will be a less than happy one.

Cheers!

No dude! Don't eat it. I'm surprised it tastes any different than usual, most cheese is pumped with ridiculous amounts of unhealthy crap.

You might get sick :(

once it is expired you throw it away it will say in the back or on the sides of the product

Uh, no I would not. String cheese is cheap, buy more. Geez!

16 months past should have been your first clue not to eat it. Add in the bitter taste. I would say you probably should put them down and stay far away.

No, I would not eat them.

YUCK!!! I wouldn't eat those!!!! Do you want to puke your guts out??? OMG if you eat those then you are gross!!! YUCK!!!

i would drive to the nearest hospital and try one there.

ahhhhhhhhhh no!

The bitter tastes means they have gone off. There would be copious amounts of bacteria, and who knows whatelse!

Hopefully your little "tasting" didnt make you sick.

omg... of course not.

It depends on the type of the cheese.
According to my mom... cheese is supposed to age :D and it doesn't have an expiration date!
If it doesn't have any of that blue stuff (mould!) on it... then it is edible.

16 month old cheese is NOT a good thing....
Peace.
