Egyptian birthday cake?
My cousin's bday is coming right up and she is obsessed with Egypt. I want to make her either a traditional Egyptian dessert or a birthday cake that looks like something Egyptian. I'm a decent baker and decorator, so don't worry about that part! Thanks!

Why not make her a pyramid-shaped cake?
Stack a few layer cakes onto each other and just trim down the sides at an angle to make a pyramid. For extra detail, sprinkle graham cracker crumbs onto the serving platter around the cake - it will look like sand.
I can't help it, I just see a birthday cake shaped like a steppe pyramid.

I agree with everyone else, a pyrimad shaped cake would rock. Just make different sized square cakes and stack. Sounds like a really cute idea.
The closest I can find to an Egyption Birthday Cake is an Egyptian Torte. The recipe is below.

Egyptian Torte Recipe
Ingredients:
1 yellow cake mix, baked as directed
1 tsp. coconut extract
1 large container of cool whip or real whipped cream
one cup slightly toasted almonds
FILLING:
1 pkg. pitted dates, chopped (8 oz.)
1 1/3 c. evaporated milk
1 1/3 c. sugar
4 slightly beaten egg yolks
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Add coconut extract to cake mix and bake as directed in 2 (9-inch) layers.
Cook and stir filling over medium heat until thickened.
Add one cup slightly toasted almonds. cool.
Split cake layers. Spread between layers and on top. Frost side with cool whip. Refridgerate.

yea and make it in like a pyramid shape with maybe lil decorative edible mummies and palm trees surounding it and sand from like brown sugar
I would make a persian orange cake and serve it with honeyed yoghurt and pomegranate pearls.
Boil 4 whole oranges for 1 hour, cool, then puree with a food processor, add 500g caster sugar, 800g almond meal, 6 eggs, 2 tsp baking powder and 2 vanilla beans inside seeds scraped out and added to mixture. bake in line tin for 1 hour at 160 degrees. cool and serve with the yoghurt, pomegranate and if you can find it, iranian pashmak, that sesame fairy floss, i would also add gold flecks from a good pastry ingredient store and rose water sugar syrup with a little pink colouring added for a pretty look.
I would do the whole cake in stone fondant. Individually cut out rectangles and spray/paint them to resemble pyramid bricks. I would apply the rectangles with regular icing after you paint them (with edible paint/spray) to make sure they stay well. Some of the brick pieces could have black symbols on them like the Egyptian eye, or even mummies. Do your research on Egyptian art found in pyramids. After you are done add the finishing touch of some edible gold dust or paint (elegantly) all around the cake.
A pyramid cake is not original... that’s the first thing that pops into everyone’s head. Make it and art piece instead!
