Wine suggestion for party?!

Question:

Wine suggestion for party?

This party is supposed to be exclusive, however, I'm afraid I don't know which wine to select for the party I am hosting.

It must be red, and must taste clean with a 5 year old Rocquefort and 2 year old Gorgonzola cheese.

Answers:
Personally I prefer the Cabernet Sauvignon with cheese, but, it all depends how much you are willing to spend I would go for the Robert Mondavi 1999 (reserve would be a charm), or a Cobblestone 2003.
Both are Napa Valley, which I really like.

A NICE CHIANTI OR MERLOT,GOES WELL WITH CHEESE,ALSO SERVE THE CHEESES WITH CHILLED GRAPES.

Ask a qualified winemaker and have plenty

Actually Port is a classic pairing with cheese, particularly blue cheeses, such as you have mentioned. Their are many excellent regional Port-style wines produced throughout the United States in addition to the "true" Ports of Portugal. If you go to wineenthusiast.com or foodandwine.com you can use their simple search features to find a well reviewed selection in your price range and availability.

On a side note, recent research was conducted that demonstrated that consuming cheese with wine actually masks some of the finer nuances of the wine. Although some people have used this as a claim to not pair wine with cheese, there is clear alternate approach as well. Simply do not worry about serving the most select, expensive wine when pairing it with cheese. Some of the finer points of the wine (and your money) will be lost.

Above all - enjoy yourself and the shared experiences of the evening!!
