Is it still good?!

Question:

Is it still good?

I made a pork roast yesterday for dinner in my crock pot. I put the leftovers in 2 gladware containers, but forgot to put them in the fridge. I took it out of the crock pot at about 8:30 last night and it went right into the gladware with the lids on. It sat out until 7:00 this morning. I know it's better to throw it away than take a risk but I was wondering if anyone knew for sure if it is bad.

Answers:
The rule for seeing if meat is still safe to eat is:
"If it spent more than two hours in the 'danger zone', throw it out"

The danger zone being 40 degress to 160 degrees. That is the conditions bacteria grows best.

I'd rather be safe that sorry.

Throw it away. Better not to get sick.

Throw it out.

Sorry im not sure hope you find the answer :-)

i'm sure its perfectly fine

It's probably fine - especially if it was fully cooked. But I would be hesitant to eat it.

trash it, it has been out to long bacteria has set in already :(

i would have to say throw it out, if it woulda been placed in the fridge it would have been fine. but when heat is on something long enough. bacteria forms X3 sorry.. order some pizza! :)

I ate something after I did that and got sick. Toss it

"If in doubt, throw it out."

It is bad. 4 hour rule - 4 hour in the range of 40f to 140f is the danger zone.

It's bad. You should throw away food that has been out for more than 4 hours.

I would think that as long as it was covered when it sat out, it should be fine. However, when I reheated it, I would make sure that it was in the "safe zone", as my favorite TV chef Alton Brown calls it- over 140 degrees, to ensure that any nasties that might have gotten in are taken care of. So take out a meat thermometer and give it a jab, just to be safe.

i've eaten foods that were left out overnight plenty of times and never got sick. i know they say not to, but i do.

I'd toss it.

I do that a lot and have never gotten sick.
It will be fine of course as long as it wasn't like 90 degrees in your house. It's fine!!!! Eat and enjoy

I asked my roommate, who is a doctor, and she said that fully cooked or not, you should most definitely throw it out. I'm vegetarian, and have never eaten meat in my life, but she does, and she's a doctor, so I'd go with binning it and not risking it!

Better not to take a chance with meat, especially pork or chicken. Maybe the dog would enjoy it though.

Food should be cooled and heated within a certain amount of time to certain temps, other wise bacteria will grow. Even though it was fully cooked it could still have bacteria now. I would throw it out.

é melhor aprender a cozinhar ou tomar remédio para a memória minha amiga!

It is fine.
