What fruits and vegetables can you grow in memphis,TN?

I am tired of paying top dollar for fruits and veg's and I want to start my own backyard store, and it would be very helpful if you tell me what fruits I can grow in my home town Memphis, TN


Answers:
In this part of the US you can grow most vegetables that are not tropical. Most varieties of squash, corn, beans, tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, eggplant, cucumbers, okra and so on. You need to get started soon tho! If you don't have a great deal of room, you can do the peppers and tomatoes in pots and they will do great outdoors and you can extend the growing season a little by bringing them in later in the year.

You can grow strawberries (they take 2 years though), melons, and most fruit trees do fine.
