Thanks for your answers. I like the ones that say that it tastes disgusting, yet they've never tasted it. Whatever that means.

Anyway... Yes, I'm talking about the dark bit which is a bit hard right at one end of the banana, not the soft bruised parts.

I've had it by mistake, and it was bitter, hard, and ruined my previously easy attitude towards bananas, so I'm always careful to avoid it. I don't like the stringy parts either that are sometimes half attached to the skin. It ruins the textural appeal for me.

I eat it all - it's all good!

I never have! It tastes kinda gross:(!

Ew...no...that would make me puke.

no its too sweet. i take the strings out.

i never really thought about it till now, but no i dont

The brown part is the sweetest part. Thats where theres alot of sugar. I dont eat the brown part but those kinds of bananas are great for banana bread!

Yeah I have before. I didnt like it much, though. Lol.

1st question:
no, it tastes disgusting....not that i would know

2nd:
of course, duh

no, but I eat peanuts shell and all, so I bet it's ok

No...I always give that part to my mom. I give her the bruises, too. The stringy parts are probably from the peel, but they just don't seem that appealing, so I pick them off (even though there's not that much on there). I'm really picky about the way I like my bananas.

no not usually
