Does anyone know?
what esther of wood rosin is? It is an ingredient in Sunkist Orange soda. Is it bad for you? I read the ingredients after I drank it and it's like I have an after taste of wood. (Don't be naughty with that one please-haha). Sunkist is the only brand of orange soda with caffeine in it and that's why I bought it. Gotta stay up to drink some beers tonight-Happy Friday!
Thanks in advance...

Well, According to the Coca-Cola company, ester of wood rosin is a substance made from a tree sap. It is used to keep citrus oil from rising to the top of the drink. Without it, the drink would have a layer of citrus oil at the top, when you opened it, much like milk had a layer of cream on the top before homogenization was invented. The ester is a flaky powder that has been "purified" to meet FDA requirements. Sounds appetizing!

The glycerol ester of wood rosin is used as a stabilizer for flavoring oils in selected fruit-flavored beverages. This stabilizer weighs down the oils and keeps them in solution. The actual content of the glycerol ester of wood oil in our finished product is at no more than 100 parts per million. This concentration meets FDA (Food & Drug Administration) regulations. According to our flavor supplier, glycerol ester of wood rosin is one of the most natural of the approved FDA ingredients to perform as stabilizers in fruit-flavored beverages
