Is vellum the same as parchment paper?!

Question:

Is vellum the same as parchment paper?

Answers:
For cooking, parchment paper is paper that's is somewhat heat resistant and coated with something that makes it non-stick, typically silicone.

Modern day vellum is made from cotton (originally was made from animal skin). Has no non-stick coating (or you wouldn't be able to write on it) and may not take the heat.

Same with wax paper, it can't take the heat as parchment paper can.

vellum is made from special processed animal skins.
