Question About Toasters!?!

Question About Toasters!?

I cook english muffins often in my toaster. After the english muffin is done i put my knife(metal) in and pull it out. If my mom sees me doing this she yells at me telling me i could get shocked because the toaster is still plugged in, but i disagree, i think you can only get shocked if you are actually cooking something in it and you stick the knife in there. Am i right or is she?

Answers:
If the toaster is still connected to the electric, it is very dangerous to insert any metal object. You should unplug the toaster first

I think your mom might be right, this time. Lol. Just be careful.

=]

your mom is definitely right. if any apploance is plugged into an electrical outlet, there is a possiblility that there is still a current running through the appliance. Maybe you should try using a paper towel to get it out with your fingertips, that always works for me!

your mum is right. anything plugged in connecting you with a conductor is deadly. turn off the toaster, shake it out or use a wooden chopstick

Mother knows best and again she is right. Use a wooden kebab skewer

She is right. With most electric things, even though it is off, if its still plugged in a small amount of electricity still runs through the device. :( sorry lol

Get some plastic toast tongs and your mom won't be having fits anymore.
