Question:

Ok, so i went to the "butcher shop" asked for lamb...?

got home and noticed another lable under it... said GOAT!!! i was disgusted... my ? is this...
1 can they sell goat for lamb.. legally?
2 im sure i would know the diference when i cooked it
3 how can i tell the difference??
ps... i live in a small town in south georgia... butcher shops are few... the major grocery stores (theres 2...walmart and Harveys) say they dont carry lamb... i was stupified when i got home with my frozen LAMB.. there was another ticket under it that said it was goat... called the shop and the man didnt deny this, told me to come back and he will refund my $ .. it was $2.12 a pound, which ...i guess a bell should have gone off... i thought the lamb i had bought in the stores here was around $6 a pound...the stores here as ive said no longer carry it...
(you can get buffalo though...!?) anyway... ive been duked... is this legal??/ to sell something for what it isnt??

Maybe they made a mistake. Maybe they did try to dupe you, though not very good at it f it was still marked. I would place a complaint with the better business bureau. Or perhaps contact your local news team, tell them your story, and see if they can do an undercover story to find out if the meat market is duping others regularily.

UGH!! GOAT MEAT!!

Calm down and take a deep breath.......

Perhaps, did it enter you mind, that maybe someone made a mistake? My, my, how unforgiving are we. What do you think you're going to do, sue and get rich? Geez, the man said to bring it back!
Do you honestly think if they were trying to dupe you they would leave the tag on indicating Goat, plus wouldn't they have charged you the LAMB PRICE if they were trying to dupe you!
