Sick when eat meat.?!

Question:

Sick when eat meat.?

Whenever I eat meat (chicken, beef, pork, lamb), I either feel really ill, or am sick. Does anyone know why this is. I am thirteen.
I'm avoiding meat altogether now, because it makes me feel so ill.

Answers:
I have problems eating certain cuts of steak because they are too fatty. If you are order steak try to order a good cut like a filet mignon. It is usually more expensive, but its a better steak and will probably sit on your stomach easier.

Also, at your age you are going through a lot of hormonal changes (if you catch my drift) and for me i had to stay away from mexican and itallian food because it made me sick as well. But it to shall pass.

I had that too, but i think its just a phase, after a bit itll go away

All in the mind. Meat is good for you, but you have developed a phobia about it. What about getting some psychological help to try and over come your phobia.

You might have a problem with digesting fat, in which case eat cuts with little or no fat. But do not give up. I have so many veg friends who are never well.

Could be a food sensitivity, close to an allergy. We don't eat pork in my family so if I were to eat it I would get very sick, my stomach used to hurt so much if I would eat beef but I don't eat it often. You may be sensitive to the type of protein that is in meat. You may grow out of it as you get older. In the mean time make sure you are getting enough protein and iron from other sources.

there may be an allergy, but I doubt it. I am leaning towards a phobia. At your age, your body needs complete proteins to develop. You can get this from vegetables, but you need to really pay attention to which vegetabeles you're eating and quantities of each one in order to get comeplete proteins. Meat has it. Eggs are good too.

If you're still having problems, I'd go to the hospital and get a blood panel drawn. They can do tests and see if there are any issues with the way your body processes the proteins and amino acids.

maybe you are not preparing it right.

Depending on whether or not you eat meat, which it doesn't sound like you do, your body probably doesn't produce the necessary enzymes and such to properly break meat down in your system. When you either don't eat or haven't eaten a specific type of food in a long time, your body stops making whatever it needs to break that type of food down because it thinks it doesn't need it. This is why vegetarians/vegans/ect. get sick if they eat meat. Although, try asking your doctor about this because...

1.) No one here is a doctor and can give medical advice like a doctor.
2.) All the stuff I just said could very well not be the case for you, you might have a food allergy, might not be eating properly prepared food, ect.
3.) ALWAYS go to your doctor if you feel sick. Not Yahoo! answers. That's just common sense.

Hope this helps.
