Can i defrost Chicken Fillets (breasts) in the microwave???
Just remembered that the chicken i am cooking for tea is still in the freezer, i have put it in cold water, but it doesn't look good as i am meant to start cooking in an hour. Can i defrost it in the microwave - if so, how???
Many Thanks

yes, i do it all the time, make sure you dotn start to cook it tho. has your microwave got a defrost setting?
i think the water method is best , keep changing the water so that its luke warm round the chicken!
enjoy your tea!
Yes. If your microwave doesn't have auto weight defrost, I usually put mine on to defrost setting for about 20 mins, or untill soft.
There should be a defrost setting on your microwave that you can use.
I have done it before, it does take long to defrost.
yeah will be fine, low temperature ticking over 10 minutes at a time or so... just make sure you cook it thoroughly afterwards
Defrost for 10 minutes then check / separate pieces and do again for another 10 if still frozen.
Yes you can wrap it in paper towls is how i do. Just do not over do it to where it starts cooking the chicken. And reember that chiken can be cooked even if it is still a little frozzen. And it will come out just fine.
yes numpty
take and put them in the micro for about 2 min on full power take out and run under running cold water and bend them and make them soft.
runa pot of hot water and keep changing every ten minute sitll thaw in time
like after 3 pots or 4
microwave messes up the food and starts cooking it as well
Yes you can if you are going to use it straight away. Defrost it slowly to avoid micro cooking it which will make it tough as old boots.
get a tupperware container half fill it with water and place chicken fillets in the water.
Set your microwave to defrost and defrost for 10 minutes, leave for 5 minutes in the water, then check the chicken fillets.
Get a knife and make a small cut into the fillet so you can put your finger inside the fillet to make sure still not frozen in the middle.
If still frozen another five minutes should sort it out.
Yes you can, first put it on defrost for a few minutes keep checking it won't take long,
put the chicken on a plate, enjoy.
