Why are pickles seved with sandwiches (yes this is silly)?!

Question:

Why are pickles seved with sandwiches (yes this is silly)?

yes, this is a silly question. I know who started the whole pickle and sandwich combo. It originated in Brooklyn, but does anyone know why the or the point of why pickles and sandwiches are served together?

Answers:
Well, yes, pickles do taste good, and that's reason enough for me!

The pickles provide a contrast in flavor, texture, and even temperature when they're eaten alongside a sandwich (or a burger or whatever). This keeps the eater "interested", and adds flair to the meal.

Also, a nice slab of pickle on the plate takes up space. Aside from the visual appeal, it makes the diner look like he's getting more for his money.

its tastle good to some ppl

becausde its yumilicious

Well, I think that pickles have a very distinct and sour taste. They are filled with juice and are full of taste. Because most sandwhiches are dry, pickles add juice and moisture.
Remember, opposites attract.
A dry sandwhich with a juicy pickle tastes good.
A sandwhich that is sweet/bitter/without sauce with a tasteful juicy pickle tastes great! =)

Try one, I am really making my mouth water. =)
Thanks so much! Hope this helps. =)
(And don't worry, this wasn't that stupid of a question; it is good to be curious.=))

Because it adds a crunchiness to the sandwich.
