How can I get my fingers to stop burning from peppers?!

Question:

How can I get my fingers to stop burning from peppers?

I was scraping the insides of some chipotle peppers with my fingers and now they burn really bad. I washed my hands with some milk and honey soap under cold water but it didn't help at all.

Answers:
Next time,use disposable gloves.

Try vinegar... just soak your fingers in a bowl of it..

I did that one time..............I really feel for you.
The only thing i can suggest is to first run your hands under warm water to open your pores, cold water closes them, then do the milk bath. Maybe after the pores open, it will allow the milk in. Just a thought.

Try submerging your fingers in milk. Pour some milk into a cup or bowl. You might have to leave them in there for a minute or two. If you take them out early, the heat might come back. It works wonders for your tongue, so it might do the same for your fingers.

When using milk, do not use skin milk- you need to use vitamin D milk. The fats in the milk help to destroy the oils of the peppers that cause the burning. Also, wash with milk alone. DO NOT use water, that only spreads the capisican around and makes it hurt worse.
If that does not work-
try tomato juice and vinegar- they're acidic and help to destroy the oils on your fingers.
If that doesn't work, try sugar and soap- like Dawn that eats away at oils.
And from now on, buy yourself some disposable gloves. YOu can get them at Wal-mart's First Aid section.

lemon juice helps me & warm water after it

Try wearing latex gloves next time. Pour some REAL milk from the frige on your hands for now.

Try vinegar..

Rub your eyes with that finger.

Then your finger wont bother you as much.

If it's really that bad seek medical attention.
