Do you say icing or frosting?!
Do you say icing or frosting?
Im having an argument with my boyrfriend. Which is the most correct one?
Answers:
I ice the cake but eat the frosting !?!
well. i call it icing:)
i'm not sure if its right though.
I say frosting most of the time, but to me, they are interchangeable.
"icing" :D
Icing!
I don't think about what I say, but I think I say frosting.
I frost the cake but I do it with the iceing.
I consider icing the stuff on cinnamon buns, toaster strudels, etc. Frosting is on cakes, cupcakes, etc. So icing is more of the small lines, frosting covers the whole thing.
Icing.
In australia we say icing - i think of frosting as an american word. My english partner also says icing - i hope this helps.
I swear this is true:
When I was introduced to "My country tis of thee"
in kindergarten/1st grade, and the line we sang,
"...of thee I sing" happened, I couldn't help--and I
mean EVERY time--but think of frosting on cake.
The spooky/funny thing is, I'd been raised around
family and people who call it FROSTING.
My guess is women side with Icing, men with Frosting.
While we're at it, which is better:
Have seconds >OR< Have another helping ???
***This just in: I say Eizus28's answer TAKES THE CAKE
i say frosting
I say icing =0)
... the icing on the cake!
I "frost" the cake with "icing". How's that for confusing? I guess you could also "ice" the cake with "frosting", but I wouldn't ;o)
I think it's normally the British that call it icing, and the Americans call it frosting, although frosting is a different coating to icing, but can't quite remember what it is at the moment
I say frosting,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but then I'm half Hoosier and half Hillbilly
