Whats the difference between brown and white eggs?!
Whats the difference between brown and white eggs?
I just moved from America to Europe and have found that brown eggs are plentiful. White eggs are a bit harder to find.
Answers:
The color difference is due to the specific breed of hen, according to the Egg Nutrition Center. Hens with white feathers and white earlobes will lay white eggs, whereas hens with red feathers and matching-colored earlobes give us brown eggs.
There is no nutritional difference. Contrary to popular belief, brown eggs aren't a healthier alternative to white eggs.
The difference between brown eggs and white eggs is purely cosmetic; it's just a matter of a baby taking after its mom.

There's very little difference at all; it's mostly a question of what the chickens have been fed. It can also be a different breed of chicken, but they're still chickens. Here in the U.S., (particularly in rural areas), brown eggs are very much prized, especially by people my parents age (80+). I personally can't tell a bit of difference :-)

Their color
you're lucky, you escaped!!!
I have a few dozen chickens and they lay both white and brown eggs.
My cream coloured hens with yellowish legs lay the white one's and the red, brown and black hens with grayish coloured legs lay the brown one's.
There is no difference within the egg itself though.
Cornell university did a study and found no difference at all
The breed of the hen
The color of the earlobe of the chicken determines the color of the egg. White lobes produce white eggs, while red lobes produce brown eggs.
I just got two laying hens and have been doing lots of chicken research. i was surpised by this fact.
