Have you ever eaten crawfish?!

Question:

Have you ever eaten crawfish?

Answers:
Yes, as a native Louisianan I've eaten crawfish many times. Most of us down here don't find it to be "too much work" because we all learned how to peel and eat them by the time we were 6 - at least I did. We like 'em spicy, and yes, people *do "suck the heads," although I know that sounds awful to some people. The whole practice of having a crawfish boil is really more of a social thing - a good reason for people to get together and have a little party, whether it's a family of four or a whole crowd. You can - at least down here - buy crawfish that have already been cooked and peeled, but that's more of an every day cooking idea.

I know someone who once found crawfish on a menu at a restaurant in Philadelphia and couldn't resist ordering them. They were served five or so crawfish on a plate and were given a shell-cracker and a little fork. Down here we eat them by the bucket full and use only hands.

Definitely cultural.

I'm married to a Cajun, so I definitely have eaten crawfish or mudbugs as some call them.
I love to suck their heads and eat their tails (they should be cooked, of course) ! It sounds awful but the juice in their heads is very good and then the meat in the tails is indescribably delicious!

Yes They are Ok I did not cook them myself

Not only have I eaten Crawfish but have actually caught, cleaned and prepared them. Once I was able to purchase some from LA that were prepared Cajun style. WHOA shed some tears but stayed with it. :)
