Question:

What mexican food is this?Name and recipie please!?

Its like a tortila corn i think and its fryed or toasted. Then toppings like guacamole, cheese, meat, etc are pilled on top and it is eaten just like that, without a top. What is it called? Recipie? thank you!

Answers:
It is called a tostada. You can buy the tostada shells at the store or fry corn tortillas flat at home. Usually it comes with refried beans, choice of meat, lettuce or cabbage whichever you choose, onions thinly sliced, tomatoes chopped, sour cream and guacamole and a bit of ranchero mexican cheese on the top. you can build it anyway you want.

I am pretty sure you mean a toastada. I hope I helped!

It's a tostada.

chalupa?

those are tostadas. In resturants, they usually come with beans instead of meat. You fry the tortilla in a little bit (about a tablespoon) of oil until it's hard. You might be able to bake it if you want to save calories. Top it with all that stuff you said and enjoy!

Here in New Mexico it's traditional to eat a fried egg on top. Yum!

It could be a raspado u can find it in any Mexican grocery store

If it's thin like a tortilla, it's a "tostada". You can just fry a corn tortilla in hot oil until crispy and add whatever toppings you like.
HOWEVER, if it's thicker, then it's a "sope." You can get corn tortilla masa from any local tortilleria. You take a ball of masa and pat it out into a 5 inch circle and cook it on a hot cast iron griddle until most of the moisture is gone. Then, while it is still hot, you bend the outer edges of the sope up to form a little edge that will keep your toppings from sliding off. Once these have cooled, you fry them in hot oil until crispy and then add your favorite toppings. Labor intensive, but SO SO good!!!!
