Why are Potato Chips bad for you?!

Question:

Why are Potato Chips bad for you?

Everyone always says how potato chips are a type of junk food, but I don't understand why. If you look at the ingredients all it is is potatoes, salt, and sunflower oil which is a healthy type of fat. So why are they bad?

Answers:
They are fried in oil, and add a lot of calories for practically no nutritional value.

=]

because there cooked in high fat oil

Anything fried is never going to be that great for you.

Because they are fried in oil and can be greasy, but in moderation they are fine.

They are fried in high amounts of high fat oil, and too much salt - which many brands of potato chips are coated in - is never healthy for anyone.

FRIED!!!

stay away from those foods..FRIED food=fat.

Most are fried in oil and they have transfat

i dont have any problem eating some potato chips at all. i think osme of the different favors taste so sours and fat in it. but i like eat any kind of chips .so why not eatiing them for snacks or eat it with sandwitches .

i've actually read somewhere in the newspaper that when potatos are fried (french fries, hash browns, potato wedges, potato chips, ect.) they form this chemical that has been linked to cause certain cancers. so maybe that's a reason why they're considered junk food, and also because anything fried can't really be that good for you, even if the oil it's fried in is healthier than the other oils, it's still unhealthy.

how are they good for you?

Hydrogenated oil, it causes cancer.

because they are fried in oil plus the fat ca make u heavy!

coz it is fried
