Is boiling milk bad?!
Is boiling milk bad?
like will the milk lose nutrition?
Answers:
No hot milk does not loose any nutritional value. But it does have a low boiling point. Most recipes call for milk that is scalding hot, which is just this side of burning. Be very careful when heating milk. Stir the milk continueosly so that a film doesn't form on the top.
If you don't watch the milk while it is heating, the milk can burn to the pot and it will taste awful, so make sure you heat the milk for so long and make sure it's on medium high not on regular high.
What kind of milk are you talking about? Cow? Not sure about that - it doesn't have much nutrition for the human body anyway. Maybe someone else can speculate for you.
Soymilk should not be boiled. Almond milk I think is fine to be boiled, as is coconut milk. Oat, rice, and multigrain milks are iffy. Hempnut milk can be lightly boiled. All of the plant-based milks will have the same nutritional values. If you have one with omega 3s added, I would not heat it.
Milk will not lose nutrients when heated. Many countries heat milk and dab a little sweetener in it and give it to kids in the winter months.
It's not bad, but it's also not what you want to do.
You just want to heat it, you don't want it scalding.
All milk is pasteurized before it's put on the grocery store shelves anyway, so I don't think it will make any difference at this point. Just make sure you don't curdle it.
No. Many recipes call for boiled milk. Does not lose nutrition. Try boiling your milk for hot chocolate. Delicious.
Well, I heat milk all time. I love it. So I would say no, its fine.
Boiling milk is fine. Just keep an eye on it or it will burn the pot and stink up the kitchen!
ppl warm milk all the time.
And to make mac and cheese you heat milk!
no.
Yes!! HEATING milk is fine. But if you actually boil it and then drink it, it will constipate you BIG TIME. So warm it gently, but don't let it boil. If it sticks to the bottom of the pan, it's too hot.
If you boil milk it will froth up out of the pan and all over your stove or m/w.
Just bring up to heat gently as it will burn quite easily, stirring from time to time.
It will make a skin and curdle and probably scorch.
When a recipe calls for scalded milk or you need hot milk.
Scald: To bring to a temperature just below the boiling point where tiny bubbles form at the edge of the pan.
