I have a problem?

For breakfast i LOVE bagels. I can eat them 24/7 but as you know they are full of carbs and i don't want to get fat. But, I have them sometimes. This Saturday & Sunday i had a bagel and today my dad got me one but i felt gross eatting another one 3 days in a row. So i had fruity pebbles chocolate whatever instead. But i overate the serving portion by like 3 times. Cereal just doesnt fill me up.

What is better.

Eatting a bagel a few days in a row for breakfast

OR

Overeating Cereal

The Bagel is always going to be your best bet. Carbs are your friend in the morning. You need complex carbs to release energy throughout the day, so while you are at school or work, you won't hit lows. Bagels also don't have the sugar nor all the milk you eat with all that cereal. Milk in and of itself isn't bad, but no more then a few ounces. Finally, it is always best not to overeat, and if it is easy to just eat that one bagel vrs 3 bowls of cereal, then a chocolate covered bagel is still good. My personal sin is Onion Bagel with Philly Cream Cheese. Yay!


Side note, you really should start your day with a large breakfast, continue your day with a medium lunch, and relax with a small supper. Think about it, you don't need all that food at supper when you aren't active and about to go to sleep. You DO need alot of food to counteract the fast of a nights sleep and jump starting your metabolism in the morning. TWO bagels is not overeating. Neither is that yummy Cream cheese.

I guess eating one bagel is better than a few bowls of cereal. Figure out the calorie count and then decide.

try to pick a better cereal one that is more filling like granola or raisin bran, frosted mini wheat's, or put fruit in the cereal. Cereal has more vitamins then a bagel. A bagel is empty calories.

try cereal, a piece of toast and a fruit. Eat slowly as well. Most, like myself, eat cereal fast so you don't get full or enough time for your stomach to digest it. I suggest that, but bagels are good once in awhile. Or just eat one side and save the other for the next day. I loveeeee cream cheese hehe

Well, it depends what cereal you eat! Fruity pebbles are filled with sugar! Also, fruity pebbles don't give you a good source of breakfast. However, bagels are filled with carbs. But they are a very good source of breakfast! So, i would go with the bagel. Maybe instead of loading your bagel with cream cheese use jam. Or just cut down on the cream cheese! I love cream cheese so i have a problem doing that but I am working on it!

Of course eating one bagel is better than overeating cereal but keep the following stuff in mind.

1. Don’t’ overeat bagel. Eat one.
2. Keep in mind that there are whole wheat bagel available
3. Keep in mind what is inside the bagel (try not to cross 20 calories in spreads)
4. Put lettuce/ cucumber/ tomatoes inside, they are good for you and neutralizes some of the harm done by carbs
5. Again, try the whole wheat or the whole grain bagel

A bagel equals four carbs and it fills you up if you have it with cream filling on it.
As for the cereal, it depends onto which kind of cereal you eat since all cereals are different. Some cereals may have a lot of sugar in it and you will have to watch your intake with this. Make sure it it's wheat bran cereal since wheat is healthier for you.
