Whats a good way to steam frozen broccoli with out making it mushy?!

Question:

Whats a good way to steam frozen broccoli with out making it mushy?

i always mess it up :(

Answers:
Steam it until it is bright green and plunge it into really cold water. That will set the colour and the warm for a few more minutes,
You are overcooking so do not leave it steaming for so long.
Good Luck.

Frozen vegs always seem mushy to me. For broccoli, I put frozen spears in a dish with a tablespoon of water, cover and microwave until just hot.

Are you using a stove top pan for steaming (water in bottom) or an electric steamer?

it's easy with a steamer that fits in your pan. put water in bottom of pan, when it's boiling add steamer with broccoli, steam for about 5-7 minutes with the top on. make sure water is boiling and add a bit if you think you need to so you won't burn up your pan. i like to sprinkle on italian dressing right before it's ready. (the bottled kind).
