How come the food in school served for children looks and taste gross?!

Question:

How come the food in school served for children looks and taste gross?

Answers:
I feel bad for anyone who had bad school lunches.

The lunches at my school were AWESOME! Seriously! Everything looked just like they would in a picture, and I gotta say, lunch was the best tasting meal of my entire day. I especially liked that they didn't use real hamburger. It was something like tofu. And it rocked. And they made sure to have something from each food group. A typical lunch would be some sort of sandwich ( bbq rib, hamburger, chicken, all on a bun) then some type of patatoe (fries, tator tots, actual mashed potatoes), a fruit, a vegetable, a roll, a milk choice, and then a treat. They also had a salad bar with a soup. Although it sucked if you had 3rd lunch because by then the lettuce would be a bit brown...

what the heck... this is the school i went to's may high school lunch menu. I no longer live in that area so take a look and be jealous!

Schools know children have no taste buds.

Because of the low budget and poor cooks in England Jamie Oliver tried to tackle this problem but a lot of the blame is with parents I would not allow my kids to eat the crap I do lol

there too cheap to get better stuff

Its cheap. Cost is almost the only factor in selecting cafeteria food. Truthfully, they could be serving something better, but most school districts are in the clutches of cheap companies, that in fact, overprice their food.
