Try convenience stores. I can't understand why they wouldn't be in the grocery store. Have you asked the clerks? Fill out a form at the store and request that they carry them. Also try WalMart, KMart, Target, etc.

that's odd, i'm from monterey and never had a problem. try convenient stores (7-11, etc) and all your basic markets.

I wished I could be of more help, but I did find a website that sells candies from 'back in the day' and they would have these - only I cant remember the link. Google "rare candy". You'll find it. Good luck! - Btw...I'm wondering if this is a bay area thing? I wonder if the BA is eliminating candy slowly, cuz I live about 40 miles north of you and I'm losing track of some of my long time favorite cansies as well....hmmmm....
