What will happen if you eat half cooked hamburger meat?!

Question:

What will happen if you eat half cooked hamburger meat?

Answers:
Your body will digest it at the same rate it would digest fully cooked meat. You may find that it tastes a little bit better.

If it's pink...you'd more than likely get sick.

Probably nothing, but you could become ill with E.Coli or some other food-borne illness -- that is, if the bacteria was in the meat you ate. Usually, the world keeps turning. Most meat doesn't have e.coli. If it did, you'd hear about it on the news, no doubt, because a lot of people undercook their meat.

You could get e coli and be hospitalized, you could even die. It's happened.

you'll get mad cow disease

ur stomach will be sick, and youll never eat another again without it being all the way done .i did that once when i was little and it messed up my whole stomach

It depends on the quality of the meat and how fresh it is. Think of high quality steaks, usually they are only partly cooked....but if you are eatting regular ground beef that has been in the store for a while...you might get sick.

I seriously doubt that anything would happen to you. I don't believe it's any different then eating a rare steak.

I eat pink hamburger meat all of the time.......BUT, if the meat is tainted with bacteria of any kind, not fully cooking puts you at risk for infection. Meat is a lot safer now days than it used to be, but anything can get contaminated these days (lettuce, spinach, peanut butter) so you take your risk in an educated manner.

You Can get a Good Case of "WORMS" Really.

Hopefully the meat was uncontaminated! Also hope you have a good gut & immune system. If the meat was contaminated with E.Coli-you won't need 3 days to get your answer because you'll be very, very ill or in hospital. On the other hand, the preservatives may help you out. Good luck.

I don't think you'll be in any immediate danger, unless you make a habit of it. They say that you shouldn't eat uncooked hamburger meat because of all the processing, and the potential for foodborne illnesses like E Coli that can stem from improperly cleaned grinding equipment. however there are still plenty of restaurants out there (albeit not many) that will serve you a burger cooked medium if you want it like that. considerably fewer will allow med rare.

You should be ok. I used to eat everything medium rare, and I never got sick or anything.

it will make you lean and mean ready to fight the first person up front, ha.''

Nothing, just will get tummy pain.

If blood still drips out, they'll consider you a vampire. Evil is what uncooked meat is for, Jesus bled on the cross, so Satan has his minions eat bloody meat to stand for drinking the blood of Jesus. I prefer my meat medium well. Not burned though. And Pork, well. For pork has something in it that will turn into worms in your intestines. Not good!

My grandfather used to eat raw hamburger sandwiches. On my last vacation I had carpaccio (very, very thin raw steak slices).

Well, there's an element of risk in just about all eating. One needs to get over that.

The reason that these chain restaurants put all kinds of glop on their hamburgers is to hide the fact that they are required to basically serve them burned (aka anything over medium).

If you want to be really REALLY safe (and still enjoy a decent burger):

1. Go to a reputable butcher shop or place that has good quality meat.
2. Buy the meat yourself to grind at home.
3. Keep everything refrigerated (under 40 degrees). If you live far from the store have a cooler with you.

(Personally I feel safe getting meat as is from my local market).

The fact is the vast, vast majority of the time a home-cooked medium rare burger w/ just salt, pepper & a thin layer of mayo on the bottom of the bun (to catch juices) is FAR, FAR healthier than one of those chain burgers w/ gobs & gobs of cheese & secret sauce that's burned to a crisp. And it will taste a lot better and cost a lot less.

But to answer the question: what WILL happen? Most likely nothing bad as far a contamination goes, but can be a detriment if the fat & cholestrol are piled on & you make it a habit of eating that way.

u would get food poisoning
