What is the ideal temp. for keeping food fresh (farenheit please)?!

Question:

What is the ideal temp. for keeping food fresh (farenheit please)?

What is the best temp. to keep food fresh ? mine is set to 49 degrees F.

Answers:
Forty-nine Fahrenheit is too high for a fridge, and I'm assuming that's what you mean. A fridge should be set to 4 - 6 degrees centigrade, which is about 38 - 42 degrees Fahrenheit. Food keeps fresher longer at the lower end of that temperature. Hope that helps.

37 to 41, 49 is far to hot

39 degrees fahrenheit (4 degrees centrigrade) is allegedly the optimum temperature for the longest preservation of food types.

Mine is set at 40 degrees, which has been successful for me.

38 - 42
