Why has no one grown a seedless watermelon?!
Why has no one grown a seedless watermelon?
It's been done with other fruit (through spraying hormones etc so the plant thinks it's fertilised and just makes the fruit) so why has no-one done it with a watermelon. Or a pomegranite, for that matter.

I hate to tell you this, but I'm 52 years old and grew up in Texas, and there have been seedless watermelons around at LEAST since I was in my teens - maybe earlier. In my opinion, they don't taste as good as the kind with seeds; maybe it has something to do with sugar production in the area of the seeds for their nourishment. In any case, they definitely exist, and can often be found in grocery stores and farmers markets.
Strange though it sounds, you can buy seeds that produce seedless watermelons - sounds paradoxical, but it has to do with the recessive factors in the parent plants' genes. Enjoy!

Seedless watermelon is the only type I buy! But why would anyone want a seedless pomegranate? You eat the seeds of those because the fruit is bitter and nasty tasting.
People have grown them without seeds. You can buy them all the time at food stores. I would have to say that it's just the same as growing grapes or anything else without seeds.
they have them all though there are still seeds but they are soft enough to eat.
People grow seedless watermelons and grapes all the time. There are actually seeds, but they are small and soft, very edible.
Pomegranite is ALL seed, you eat the seed which is covered by a sweet/tart juicy exterior, after peeling.
