-M S G is,..

It wouldn't surprise me a bit.

If it was not safe then the FDA wouldn't allow it to be sold in the U.S.

The traditional Chinese diet is far healthier than the traditional American diet, which often features meat as the focus of the meal, says T. Colin Campbell, PhD, professor of nutritional biochemistry at Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

It's more likely that your burgers on the BBQ have more carcinogens than sweet and sour sauce.

Pending on where you eat...and how its cooked most ingredients in chinese food have msg in it

enjoy your chinese food. the leading cause of death is being born.

sometimes.

Are you talking about restaurants or grocery import items?

Restaurants are regulated to some degree by the health department. Probably not as much as one would hope.

Imports are checked but not as completely as needed by the FDA or we wouldn't have had the pet food recall fiasco. I think a lot of Chinese food at the grocery is actually U.S. made, but I could be wrong...

I don't know how accurate that information is. I'm sure that some scientist, somewhere has discovered that EVERYTHING causes cancer.

There are ingredients, common in Asian cuisine, that are known to pose possible health hazards; the most obvious of which is monosodium glutamate (MSG). It's a flavor enhancer, and there are suggestions that it may contribute to some health problems, although the FDA calls it "generally regarded as safe".

In any case, moderation is the key to health, when it comes to food. For example, certain types of fats can lead to health problems over the years. It doesn't mean we should eliminate these fats (or the foods containing them) entirely, it just means that we should avoid overindulging in them.

Do you breath Oxygen? and you know it is poisonous???
Do you see people falling dead outside any restaurant.
Any food you might purchase is SAFE or some agency would shut them down FAST.
None of it is true!! Even the MSG scare only affects a few degenerates that have allergies like some dorks to wheat.

Most Chinese restaurants will serve food without MSG (a form of salt) in it. Enjoy.

Keep this in mind....

Most of the chinese food we eat here in America is NOT real chinese food. It has been altered to please the American palate.

However, You can ask any chinese place you order from if they have MSG in their food. They will tell you right away whether or not their food contains MSG. Otherwise there's nothing bad in chinese food. I'm a chef and have cooked many different cuisines and there's absolutely nothing bad in chinese cooking. It's just up to you as the customer to inform yourself about which places are good and which are bad.

It is safer than any other type of food.
Especially if u choose it all with vegetables!
