Huh? Can you love flowers and still eat veggies?
I love many animals. Some as pets (my cat). Some from afar (wild). Some, well done on my barbecue!
Sorry if this offends anyone. I did not post the question, just answered it honestly.

my personal opinion you do not have to be a vegan to be an animal lover

i can't

Yes, I became a vegeatrian because I dont like harming tha animals.

=]

you can truly love animals without being a vegan, humans eat meat, dogs eat meat, bears eat meat, I don't get the point of being a vegan are you going to refuse antibiotics or any medication for that matter because it was tested on animals? Unless you go all the way your sacrifice means nothing, being a vegan is a trend. If you’re going to do that you can’t stop there, you shouldn’t drive a car, or use electricity all of this effects the ecosystem, it’s a never ending slope. Because in the big picture you’re refusal to eat KFC or drink milk doesn’t mean anything other than you’re a hippy the rest of us still will.

No if you love animals you love animals. Its quite simple, radical people will spew all sorts of arguments, but I feel I was born with incisors (canine teeth) for a reason. I eat meat because it is healthy and makes me feel complete. I do not admonish anyone for not eating meat I think that its there choice, once your an adult you can make the decision for yourself. I love my animals, and they are treated like family, and I don't think eating meat makes me love them less. I am an Omnivore, so I eat everything that is edible.

Eh, I suppose all of us animal lovers should be vegan, but us humans are the biggest parasites on the planet.

We use up all resources, whether it's animals, coal, oil, natural gas, etc. and give very little back in return.

I don't like the idea of animals having to die for my meals, but we're top of the food chain and that's not changing anytime soon.

I try to be as loving as possible to all animals that aren't raised to become dinner and I realize the flawed logic in that.

I love animals of all types very much and also eat meat. I think the important change in behavior is to make sure that your meat animals are treated humanely and have a good life and stress-free death. Then you are doing "right" by them.

Unfortunately the way most commercial meat animals are raised is very cruel physically and mentally. This must be changed. Take note of the recent interest in "humane" certification and farm traceback at many stores like Whole Foods. They recognize a change is required and are doing something about it.

And of course you can always find a local farmer raising animals in the method you find acceptable. This is a growing trend and there are sites like localharvest.org that help you find local growers.
