Can i use watered down half & half as a substitute for whole milk?!

Question:

Can i use watered down half & half as a substitute for whole milk?

i have a recipe for mac and cheese that calls for milk, but i'm all out of milk, but i have some half and half in my fridge. can i use that as a substitute? does anyone know the proportions?

Answers:
Just use the half &half in the same quanity as the milk. It will make the mac and cheese richer and creamer tasting. Mac and cheese is not health food so go ahead and enjoy the great taste.

Yes, I think you could substitute the half and half or add some water. I would use 1 part water to 3 parts half and half.

You can use it. I think it'll be just fine- probably go with 3/4 cream and 1/4 water and you'll be fine. Mac and cheese is very forgiving!

Go for it. It will work even if you don't water it down. The mac will taste even better. It's got more butterfat. Which is good for taste, but less healthy. Once isn't going to hurt!
