What kind of saké should I get at a Japanese restaurant?!

What kind of saké should I get at a Japanese restaurant?

I am clueless when it comes to Japanese saké. I would like to start trying it. Should I go for warm or cold? Any specific types of saké? Preferably something not too strong in taste.

If you are looking for a good one to start out with since you are new. Try Otokoyama. It is fairly priced and quite popular. With just a small after taste. Something a lil more stronger tasting would be Tamanohikari. Also a fairly reasonable sake. Not too pricy.
A lili higher up the scale is Hakkaisan. It is very comparable to Otokoyama. I think Otokoyama is lil more dry. And then there is my favorite. Kubota. It is quite pricy but after tasting it, you will know why. There is no after taste. It just vanishes. Probably my best suggestion for u, since you are startring out woul be Otokoyama. Sake is always better cold. Tho that is jus my opinion. But it is definitely more refreshing. If you have any other questions you can email me. Hope This helps.

I've had it once in a japanese sushi bar. Not sure of different types, but warm is the way to go. I really liked it, you could feel it going all the way down. It wasn't too strong in taste either.

A lot of restaurants have a sake list that tells you the flavor/taste of the different brands. My favorite restaurant also has a little card on the tables with drinks matched to types of fish /certain rolls. Or ask a waiter/waitress to recommend one to your liking..not too strong, ask about warm/cold. I've heard warm, but I'm not much of a sake drinker, i just like sushi (and i'm under 21). good luck
