Where do baked beans come from?!
Where do baked beans come from?
are they grown on trees, or are they just pasta?
Answers:
they're not pasta...they're beans. hence the name "baked BEANS". Beans are a legume that's grown from a pod producing plant. The rest is just sauce and spices, like molasses and red pepper...I think.
a tin.
A tin?
They are a bean, so I guess they grow in the ground...
Baked beans are usually haricot beans, and they have been cooked in a sauce, then canned. They are still technically a vegetable, and nothing to do with pasta!
From a can, usually.
they are made from the haricot bean that is grown and cooked and put in tomato sauce.
old men trade them for cows with poor people, but the stupid idiots put them in the oven and bake them instead of growing them, if only they knew they had indirect access to a goose that lays golden eggs!!
They come from plants. You know how you buy runner beans or broad beans etc? Baked beans are just beans baked and covered in tom sauce.
They are Haricot beans in sauce
Mine come from tins. No they grow on plants. They are small beans that are processed to make the baked beans we know.
The supermarket.
“Baked beans have been popular in North America since before the Pilgrims landed on the eastern shores. Although many people think of Boston as the birthplace of the recipe, according to the National Restaurant Association, the Narragansett, Penobscot, and Iroquois Indians created the first baked bean recipes. The Iroquois discovered the critical ingredient, maple syrup.”

I'm not sure where they come from but I know where they go!
Baked beans come from a Bakery. There are a few prominent baked bean bakeries in the world, but only a few. The most popular one is right next door to a really amazing Boneless Chicken Ranch. Here they farm genetically engineered chickens, scientifically altered to grow without bones. When the chickens reach the desired weight, they are butchered and canned. The preperation is very simple, due to the lack of bones.
What, are you serious? Pasta? Yes, it is pasta dear. Come on. 'Baked' Beans refer to the cooking method. The BEANS are BAKED....go figure.

good grief they are from France!
I get mine from Tesco!
from tins brought at the supermarket would be my silly answer.
haricot beans are grown, picked, boiled & have tomato sauce with various other ingredients, put in tins & 3m cans are sold in the UK every week,
would be my sensible answer.
No they grow on plants the same as any other bean or pea. They are technically the seeds, and grow in pods.
In the case of baked beans the haricot bean is used but you could use any white bean.
It would look odd if you used green or black beans but it would still be baked beans.
Our American cousins came up with a winner!
Usually from a can/tin.
You don't know Jack?
