Where do chocolate "Maltesers" get their name from?!


Question:

Where do chocolate "Maltesers" get their name from?

My four year old daughter asked me and I had to admit that I haven't got a clue. Any ideas?

Although they are made with some chocolate they have a malt taste like Horlicks etc. So I guess thats where the 'Malt' part comes from?

The Cruchy bit on the inside is made of malt and they do tease you because once you've had one you always need more!
