Why is iced coffee always more expensive than regular hot coffee?!

Question:

Why is iced coffee always more expensive than regular hot coffee?

Are the cups that much more expensive, or maybe the maintenance and refrigeration of the ice? Just don't understand the big difference of price.

Answers:
Iced coffee takes longer to make and uses more energy than hot coffee, because it is cooled from brewed coffee. So, instead of just one process that uses energy (the brewing), you have two processes (brewing, then cooling).

Further, iced coffee comes in larger cups than most hot coffees do, so you're paying for more liquid.

Yes the maintenance and refrigeration of the ice make ice coffee more expensive then regular hot coffee. It is kind of like they charge you for the ice..unbelievable but true. I would just buy a regular hot coffee and go home and put some ice in it. It saves some money, dont you think?

because its a new thing, I just get a regular cup of coffee and a large cup of ice. same thing a lot cheeper

its the price of a new idea

they have obviously the coffee, sugar, whipped cream, sometimes chocolate and/or carmel and ice and yeah the cups too coffee is just grounds and water

IT HAS BEEN AROUND SINCE ICE WAS READILY AVAILABLE. IT WAS A WAY TO USE LEFT OVER COFFEE.

there is a double shot of coffee in ice coffee so that when the ice melts it wont be watery
