What would be a good meal prior to an exam?!

Question:

What would be a good meal prior to an exam?

I need something that fills me up for a long time (the exams are 3 hours long) but doesn't make me bloated, some of my exams are in the afternoon & some are in the morning so if you could reccommend a breakfast & a lunch?
Thanks!!!

Answers:
stay away from or limit carbs. no soda (diet or regular)
breakfast: scrambled eggs and ham
lunch: turkey/cheese sandwich on wheat or sans bread.

Something with whole grains.

1 or 2 bowls of Grape Nuts would suffice...

Then a sandwich on Whole Grain Bread... light, but filling.

something light and refreshing....
a fruit salad + cranberry juice...

you should actually eat whatever it is u might eat while u were studying...it has been proven that recolection is easier if you do the same things you did while trying to retain the information...so much so, that I read a study where they got a man drunk and taugh him some crazy engineering stuff, and then gave him the test sober and he bombed, and then got him drunk and he passed

A protien rich meal.

The presence of a peptide hormone in the gut accounts for the feeling of fullness experienced by people after consuming a protein-rich meal, scientists have found. The hormone known as PYY sends signals to the brain and reduces feelings of hunger, researchers said.

Make sure you get complete proteins in your meals. Meat, dairy and eggs provide complete proteins. A combination of grains and legumes (peanuts, peas, beans, lentils, tofu, etc) also provides a complete protein. Grains alone (like rice) are not complete, and some people think this makes a person tired and sluggish. The book "Jumpstart Your Brain" recommends lots of protein, especially seafood, for putting the brain into peak condition. Also, don't over-eat. There is research suggesting that people aren't as smart when they're "full". Maybe our early ancestors needed the extra brain-power to find food when they were hungry. But I wouldn't go over-board with this theory. Don't fast. Just eat in moderation.

I wouln't eat a heavy meal as this will make you sluggish. Fish has Omega 3 vitamins that has proven brain power. Drink a Propel. It has vitamin B12 that will help keep you alert. It won't make you hiper like caffine would. Fresh fruit !

Good luck on your exam!

Have something low in carbs and complex sugars but high in protein. And eat so that you're not too full. Otherwise you'll feel sleepy while taking the exams.

Bfast -- ham and cheese omelet, a banana
Lunch -- baked pork chop (or salmon) and sauteed green beans; clam chowder and a green salad
Snack -- yogurt, mixed nuts and raisins

Good luck!
