I need a camera shaped cake mold. Any suggestions?!

Question:

I need a camera shaped cake mold. Any suggestions?

My fiancee and I are trying to find a camera shaped cake mold for his grooms cake. He's a photographer, if that makes more sense. Does anyone know where you can find unusual cake molds?

Answers:
You could get one custom made:

Or you could make one. Get a rectangle pan for the base and a small round pan (might need two) or a cupcake sized pan and make the lens/shutter. You could icing all the details. Should be a lot of fun actually.

Just do it smaller squares and assemble them to look like a cameras, then carve rounded corners to make the lens square look rounded.

try the crafts store in your area. If they don't have it, go to a hardware store and ask them

bake a round cake and place it on a rectangle cake and then put on choclate icing and take wite icing tube and draw on lens and stuff

Try here they have all kinds

I decorated cakes for years and a camera cake is pretty simple. Just use a few sheetcakes one for the camera and another for cutouts. You can use a few different sized cups for lenses. The best thing is to have a plan. Use paper and a pencil and draw your cake out (actual size) that way you can make notes about what to use for this or that cutout. get some cornstarch and mix up some in a bowel to dip your finger in when you are done icing the cake to smooth out the colored piping and make it flat. Use piping so you can add detail. Don't use just one color use both black and silver. Go to your local cake decorating shop and look at tips, bags, couplers, and books. Good luck and a bottle of wine for decorating night because it is very stressful. Oh I almost forgot you can buy clear gel for the lenses.

you don't need a cake mold , just someone inspired enough to build a camera cake out of a regular cake... hint frosting can go a lot further than you might think.
