How long does it take to make ice cubes in an average freezer? In those flat ice cube trays you pour the water into?

a matter of hours, but overnight will ensure that they are solidly frozen.

It will probably take about 4 and a half hours.
All temperatures vary in freezers, so if it's really cold in there, about an hour and a half. Use hot water to fill them too, that seems to freeze faster.
