Are pops that have no sugar really better for you?!

Question:

Are pops that have no sugar really better for you?

We have Fanta Orange Zero, meaning it has no sugar, but does it really do anything for you? If not, what's the point of buing it?

Answers:
It really just depends on what sweetener is used instead of sugar. For example let us look at aspartame, which is used in most sugar free sodas. Aspartame is also used in some pesticides, and your body cannot effectively metabolize aspartame. Also, aspartame gives some people headaches quite often. However, sugar-free sodas that use splenda are better for you than ones with aspartame, mainly due to the facts that A: Splenda cannot be used as a poison B:Your body can metabolize splenda more efficiently than aspartame, and C: Splenda usually doesn't give people headaches

cuz fanta is The ****

No because it is made from artificial sweetners that are just as bad. You'd be better off drinking water:-)

Diet drinks usually contain artificial sweeteners (lab created) rather than sugar. They also tend to have alot of sodium. These products may be better for you if you replace your usual drink with these, but do not overindulge just because it says Diet on the can.

fake sugar is worse for you than real sugar

Not better for you becuase pop is not good for the body in general. It does have less calories. I'm sure it has a flavorful taste.

It is all nasty stufff that they put in soda. Diet or regular it does not matter. Your body has a hard time processing high fructose corn syrup in regular soda, and your body has a hard time processing the fake sugar like Splenda and aspartame in the diet stuff.

It is a lose lose situation buy whatever tastes better to you.

for diabetics ... they have serious problems with sugar, and some products are put on the market for them ... what it might to for *you* is
to help with your diet .....some of us can handle regular sugar and actually need it....

No-sugar sodas, as well as regular sodas, should be consumed occasionally if not rarely - just like fast food. Yes, it's bad for you, but it won't kill you if you drink it once in a while.

Why sugarless instead of regular? Basically just to reduce your calorie/sugar intake. Figure it this way - if you're going to drink pop, you might as well go for diet since it's still better than drinking regular soda.

Yes, you'll hear and read many things on the internet about artificial sweeteners. Is it true? I don't think so. When I look it up on the web, I usually just find anecdotal information on unprofessional-looking websites.

I go by the phrase 'everything in moderation'. Aspartame in moderation, on the grand scale of things, isn't harmful.
