Has anyone ever died from eating ketchup?!

Question:

Has anyone ever died from eating ketchup?

My friend I were talking about how sometimes rats fall into the tomato trucks and they get made into the ketchup, and since rats are dirty and probably have diseases, has anyone ever died from it?

Sounds like you've gotten ahold of an old-fashioned Urban Legend. It's disgusting to think about, but even if rats (or other vermin) were pulverized and mixed into the ketchup, they'd get pasteurized. Any pathogens/diseases would be taken care of.

I suppose it's certainly possible that somebody, somewhere, has died from consuming ketchup. But if they did, it was probably because they had a severe allergy to an ingredient in the ketchup (presumably tomatoes or corn syrup).

No, but I hear stupid questions can cause cancer

I think it was Catsup that killed.

If you are worried about that you should be worried about what is in the air you are breathing, washing your hands 24/7, checking ingredients in foods to see what is bad, and I think you get the point. Maybe something like that hapened but it probably won't happen again. Worry about something more important.

I have tried, but not yet

If you dip your tacks or ant poison in ketsup,I think it can kill you. Also, doesn't it say on the bottle-do not operate heavy machinery until you know what the effects are?
