Why don't they glue the inside plastic of cereals to the box anymore?!?!

Question:

Why don't they glue the inside plastic of cereals to the box anymore?!?

I'm pretty sure all cereals used to have the inside bag glued to the box. Now every time I poor cereal, the bag falls most of the way out and it bugs the crap out of me! Why can't the companies spend a little extra money to stop this from happening?! And am I remembering correctly? Didn't they used to do it?

Answers:
For one they started putting designs and games, or words in general, so if they glued the bag in, that space is not longer useable for putting more information and other advertisting.

Another reason was because when you get to bottom of the box, as least my family you took the bag out and poured it becase it was easier.

Another reason is because to open the bag in the box...it is nice to be able to slide out the bag some and pull it open or cut it open without having to fight with the box flaps.

Also...you could just buy the cheaper stuff that's already in the huge bags and then you wouldn't have to worry about the box at all. Or you could remove the stuff you already buy from the box and just put the bag back up on the shelf tied closed.

probably too much time, effort, money, and labor. if they still did, they would probably charge us even more for a box!

They did used to do that. I miss ye olden days...

Probably so you can take the bag out and read the inside of the box. They print stuff in the inside because in order to read it you have to open it, meaning you have to buy it/steal it.

It's a lot easier to get to the prize at the bottom this way :)

Yeah, I think your right. I like it because you can take the bag out of the box and pour it in easier. I don't know why they stopped the glue. Some idiot must have decided it causes Cancer or something.

I know what you mean, but I don't think the bags were/are intentionally glued to the bottom of the box. I think what happens is, when they glue the bottom of the box shut, they put the bag in before the glue is dry, and it gets stuck.

They did do that. I think they stopped because people turn the boxes into the recycling centers and the glue messes up the cardboard. I never leave the cereal in the box once I open it. I pull the cereal box's inner lining out with the cereal still in it and place both in a tupperware type container to keep it fresher (and not attract ants).

I always take the bag out of the box first and toss the box. But if you don't want to do it that way, why don't you just whip out the Elmer's glue at your house and glue it yourself? Good luck!

ahaha...well, i usually put my cereal in a container so i dont have that problem...
but thats funny, i do remember it being glued to the bottom!

I am not too smart .
But cereal Is not high on my demand list.
SO I dump mine in the rubbermaid containers.
Guess what !!! no more finding moth parts and eating magot leftovers in the bottom of the box.

Willa is right. Now they make the bags out of Mylar or linear PPO to keep it fresher longer on the shelf.

I doubt if hot melt glue would adhere to either. The old bags were waxed paper.

Since I have grown older, I remember the waxed paper bags could be opened by old dudes and kids. Now, you have to have a 400 pound angry, ugly gorilla that hates cereal bags to open one!

Who do you think they want to eat their cereal?

Yes they did,but no longer.I would think because people were tearing the bag when they decided to take them out of the box.Like when you store them in containers.....

it doesn't happen to me what the heck are you doing? are you turning the box upside down

I used to hate that glue! Whenever you got a prize in a box of cereal, you would always take the package out of the box to see where it was. Of course it was always at the bottom. So whenever I would take it out, the darn bag would tear! And everyone knows how long cereal last once it's exposed to air. So I'm one that's glad the glue is no longer there. The thing I hate now is when I open the bag, I end up tearing the top portion of the box.
