Because they look different? And if you use cookie cutter you can create even better taste. Stars.. hearts.. flowers.. birds... you can have them all. Just imagine how tasty Christmas tree would be. By the way how old are you? 10?
Because you cut it diagonally and the first thing you eat or taste is the ham,cheese and what ever you put on your sandwich. But if you don't cut it diagonal the first thing you are going to taste is the edge of the bread. And plus that the way mom's cut the sandwiches.

The sandwich will even taste better with a load of beer to drink with it.
It's visual and if you cut it in fours it will taste even better and you will be able to eat more cause it looks small LOL the mind plays all kindas tricks on ya lol
