What kind of food do you eat in Australia?
Answers:
I've been here for 12 years - and we eat basically the same kind of stuff that I used to eat in the US.
Lamb is big here, along with beef and pork. Although their bacon is more of a Canadian style bacon, and just tastes wrong IMO. Same fruits, veggies, etc as the US, cakes, pies, cookies, (biscuits) biscuits, (scones) candy, (lollies)
And their hamburgers are strange ! They put fried egg, grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, beets and pinapple on them.
Believe me... it's an acquired taste !
What I wouldn't give for a Butterfinger candy bar and a A&W Root Beer though.... *sigh*
I have friends that are missionaries there. They say it depends on where you are at. Since there are a lot of tourists there they have food like we do hamburgers, stuff like that.
They eat a lot of the same food we in the U.S. eat. They also have more of a variety of teas, and some interesting cookies and pastries.

I went to Australia once a few years ago, so here's my stab at the question:
It really depends on where you go in Australia, but when I stayed at an island near the Great Barrier Reef, there was lots of fantastic seafood. It was mostly served raw, so if you're a sushi fan it's great.
Another thing that I remembered that I thought was much different from the U.S. was the way they served hot dogs. They actually keep the "covering" on their hot dog weiners (it was half red and half "regular color") and eat it as is in a bun. It was pretty unappetizing for my taste, so stay away from those. Hope this helps!
